Campus Support

We are lucky at Wesleyan to have many people and departments on campus ready to help you design your First-Year Seminars. Though resources abound, we encourage you to connect with the following:

Shapiro Center for Writing

Dr. Stephanie Weiner, Director of Academic Writing and Shapiro Writing Center

Dr. Lauren Silber, Assistant Director of Academic Writing, Assistant Professor of the Practice in English

Dr. Beth Hepford, Assistant Professor of the Practice in TESOL, Education Studies, and English

Dr. Sarah Ryan, Associate Professor of the Practice in Oral Communication

The Writing Workshop is a peer-tutoring support service on campus that runs three programs for students. There is the the Writing Workshop which offers one-on-one 45-minute appointments with peer tutors. The Writing Mentor Program which offers .25 credit and semester long weekly support with a peer tutor. Finally, we offer a wide range of thesis support including our Thesis Mentor Program and Thesis write-ins and bootcamps.
